I have been using Asatee Rice Milk Soap with Collagen from Thai Supermarket for many months now. Not only does it work better than bottled liquid body wash, but it’s more environmentally-friendly too. I wanted to find shampoo and conditioner in bar form and that’s when I found Ecobar. Ecobar promises that all of their products are made from natural ingredients. There are no sulfates, parable and silicons. All products are vegan, 100% biodegradable and uses no plastic packaging.
That sounds like exactly what I am looking for so I got myself a Heal + Detox Shampoo Bar and Repair and Nourish Conditioner Bar.
I like that the bars come in cardboard boxes with no plastic wrapping.
Ecobar Heal + Detox Shampoo Bar
Heal + Detox Shampoo Bar is greyish-black in color. It contains tea tree, neem, dead sea salt and charcoal (which explains the black color). You can smell a hint of tea tree. It does not foam that much but it does clean the hair quite well. The only problem is it takes a bit of time to slowly soften the shampoo. I suggest keeping it in an airtight container after use so that the vapor will help to soften it for the next use.
Ecobar Repair and Nourish Conditioner Bar
Repair and Nourish Conditioner Bar contains coconut, sunflower and almond which explains its orangey color. It is a lightweight conditioner that does not build up excessive oils in my hair. My hair feels light after washing, but also a little dry. It is quite hard and takes a while to slowly rub it onto the ends of the hair.
I started using both bars at the same time, the shampoo bar is almost used up while the conditioner bar is not even half gone.
Conclusion
All in all, Ecobar shampoo and conditioner bars are great alternatives to the liquid versions. By using bar shampoo and conditioner, you are not only saving the earth but also treating your body better as they don’t contain harsh chemicals.
